9/16/2012 Latest News from the Chamber:

Recently our chamber voted to buy the first of 6 proposed 32" flat screen TV's which will be placed at various locations in Washburn advertising chamber member's businesses.  After a lot of trial and error the first TV was put in place 9/15/2012 at Trojan's PQ Mart with a slide show playing.  The response was very good with several new chamber prospects wishing to have an ad there.  The slide show on our home page is limited to 15 slides but those represent a few of the ones on the TV slide show.  Other locations tentatively planned for TV's include Hillbilly Henry's Flea Market, Purple Cow Flea Market, Cr-ose Country Cafe, Eagan's Supply and possibly Brinkman's Automotive.

Our purpose is to increase awareness of Washburn Businesses to those who pass through our town but seldom stop for more than gas or specific purposes not requiring an extended visit.  Secondly we intend to use chamber funds to build income for each and every business member of the chamber.  Thirdly we wish to revitalize interest in the chamber and community awareness in order to improve the quality of life in Washburn.

Steve Hodgin was recently elected president of the chamber and meetings are now scheduled at Noon on the second Tuesday of each month at 225 Main Street in Washburn.  This is just across from the Post Office.  Evening meetings may soon be added to encourage members to attend who might not normally attend the noon meeting.  Please let Steve know via email how you feel about that at stevehodgin@yahoo.com.
